Foster Terms and Conditions

1. I/we agree that the animal/s, whilst located at my/our property, while in foster care with me/us, is and remains the property of Greys4Pets Inc (to be known as ‘Rescue’ or ‘the Rescue’ from here on).

 

2. I/we agree and understand that by completing the foster process with the Rescue, that it does not guarantee approval to foster with the Rescue. Final decisions are reserved by the Rescue and the Rescue Committee.

 

3. I/we agree that we are responsible for providing all food, worming treatment, tick treatment, flea treatment, and enrichment toys. I/we understand that donations are limited and will only be provided supplies as they are available.

 

4. I/we agree that throughout the duration of fostering animal/s in my/our home, the Rescue may remove the animal/s from my/our home if deemed necessary. I/we agree that we will comply with all reasonable requests to collect the animal/s from my/our property by the Rescue representative. If I/we do not comply I/we understand that we will be reported to the appropriate authorities and the animal/s will be listed as stolen.

 

5. The animal/s being placed with me/us is on a temporary basis, that begins on the date of the animal/s being delivered/collected unless otherwise arranged in writing and is to be returned to the Rescue at any time if the animal/s is deemed unsuitable or is unwanted.

 

6. I/we agree that I/we are able to transport the animal/s in our care to a veterinary surgery for treatment at any time. If veterinary care is required, the Rescue will be notified immediately and taken to the Rescue’s nominated vet, unless written approval is provided by the Rescue to use an external vet. In the event that the issue is life-threatening please seek immediate medical attention for the animal/s. I/we accept that we are responsible for all fees incurred by attending emergency vets and other vet clinics if the issue is not deemed life-threatening and/or an emergency by the Rescue.

 

7. I/we agree to attend the Rescue’s nominated vet as requested for mandatory vet work, including but not limited to desexing/sterilizing/neutering/spaying, microchipping, vaccinations, etc.

 

8. If during my/our fostering of the animal/s, they require any medical attention, I/we agree to contact the Rescue immediately. Any veterinary costs incurred by me/us without the agreement of the Rescue will not be refunded to me/us. I/we may be asked to contribute to the cost for any issues deemed as being caused by me/us or as a circumstance of my/our care of the animal/s.

 

9. I/we agree that a member of the Rescue may request to inspect my/our premises or request photographs of areas of my/our premises in the absence of a home check, at any time, to ensure that the animal/s will be housed in safe and secure surroundings.

 

10. If the animal/s become lost while in my/our care, I/we agree to notify the Rescue immediately by phone, Facebook message or email or all of the aforementioned. I/we also agree to begin searching for the animal/s in my/our immediate area as soon as possible. I/we also agree to contact the QLD Lost Pet Register on Facebook. I/we also agree to contact the RSPCA and AWL to list a lost pet report.

 

11. If the animal/s impounded while in my/our care, by any council or private facility including veterinary surgery, I/we may be responsible for paying impound or any other fees to have the animal/s released. The Rescue may request that the animal/s is returned upon release from the facility and will need to be made available if so requested.

 

12. If I/we need to return the animal/s to the Rescue I/we agree that we will attempt to provide at least one week's notice to find an alternative foster carer. The Rescue acknowledges that this may not often be applicable, so I/we agree to return the animal/s to the shelter at 246 Larsens Road, Coominya at a mutually agreed upon time with the Rescue.

 

13. I/we agree that any damage done to property belonging to me/us/others by the animal/s will not be refunded by the Rescue. However, I/we must report the damage to the Rescue as soon as possible for record-keeping purposes.

 

14. In any circumstances where the animal/s is exhibiting any type of behavioral issue, I/we agree to contact the Rescue immediately to seek advice, and I/we agree to liaise with any third parties to help resolve the issues.

 

15. If at any time, during the care of the animal/s, the Rescue becomes aware that the animal/s is being mistreated or is deemed as being at risk (direct or indirectly), the Rescue may seize the animal/s at any time without notice – the animal/s are the property of the Rescue, and the animal/s will be assessed by a veterinarian and/or a behavioral specialist. If the Rescue considers the situation resolved satisfactorily and the animal/s face no further threat the animal/s may be returned to me/us. If the animal/s are deemed to still be at risk, the animal/s will be retained by the Rescue and I/we may be reported to the authorities.

 

16. I/we agree that the animal/s will only reside at the address provided in the adoption application unless prior arrangements are made with the Rescue to travel or relocate with the animal/s.

 

17. I/we agree that if the animal/s in my/our care are responsible for any damage or injury to a human, another animal/s, or livestock I/we agree that I/we release the Rescue of any responsibility for any following legal action or expenses.

 

18. I/we agree to only use safe and humane training equipment with the animal/s. I/we agree not to use choke chains, prong collars, tethering, or keep the animal/s on a chain.

 

19. I/we agree to ensure that the animal/s will be inside at night and have access outside through the day with an appropriate shade and regular supply of water.

 

20. I/we agree to take all precautions to ensure the animal/s safety and the safety of others, including another animal/s, by ensuring we do not put the animal/s in positions where due to its temperament it is deemed unsuitable for the animal/s.

 

21. I/we agree to adhere to all advice and direction provided by the Rescue for the duration of the animal/s time in care, including but not limited to, special diets, avoiding certain mix of animal/s, behavioral needs, etc.

 

22. I/we agree that if the animal/s is in part or full breed Greyhound, that I/we will adhere to the local and state council regulations and ensure the animal/s is muzzled outside of the home at all times.

 

23. I/we agree to adhere to the restriction of limited walking the animal/s that is in part or full breed Greyhound from the age of 16 years old.

 

24. I/we agree to not take my/our animal/s to any off-leash areas or dog parks throughout the duration of my/our care.

 

25. If the animal/s have a medical condition that results in the Rescue vet recommending that they not be desexed/sterilized/neutered/spayed for health reasons, I/we agree to ensure that the animal/s is not exposed to any situations in or outside the home where there is even minimal risk of mating, whether my/our animal/s is male or female. I/we agree not to use the animal/s for any breeding whether deemed ethical or not.

 

26. I/we agree that under no circumstances is the animal/s to be used for hunting, pigging or any other sport that may incur serious injury to him/her or another animal/s and wildlife. I/we also agree that the animal/s will not be used for Security or Guard Dog purposes.

 

27. In the event of celebrations including but not limited to Christmas Day, Australia Day, New Years, etc., I/we agree that the animal/s is to be contained in a secure and fully fenced location, to avoid any escapes or injury.

 

28. A foster will not be approved without written confirmation and permission from real estate, landlords, property owners, body corporate, or other relevant bodies. If not provided, the rescue can and will arrange for the return of the dog. Declaration I/we acknowledge that I have read and accepted all of the terms and conditions in this foster agreement. I/we agree and confirm that all the information I/we have provided to the Rescue is true and correct to the best of my/our knowledge. I/we understand that failure to comply with the requirements of this agreement can result in immediate seizure of the animal/s and could result in legal action.

 

By signing the foster application, you are also agreeing to the following:

 

1. You have voluntarily contacted the Rescue and have expressed an interest in meeting with the dogs in the care and custody of the Rescue.

 

2. You are fully aware of the risks that dogs pose and have elected to view/house and/or interact with any animal/s both belonging to the Rescue, other rescue organisations, or privately owned located on the property or within my/our home.

 

3. You hereby, agree that you are solely responsible for you, your family and person/s attending the Rescue property (246 Larsens Road, Coominya) or your property, and knowingly assume all risks that exposure to dogs may pose, including but not limited to serious bodily injury and/or death.

 

4. You waive your right, to take action and release the Rescue, its members, committee, officers, adopters, staff, foster carers, and all other parties associated with the Rescue from all responsibility for any and all damages which may be sustained directly or indirectly in connection with the Rescue, or arising out of, exposure to the animal/s. This includes you being solely responsible for all others interacting with the Rescue animals on your behalf, while in your care or under your supervision.

 

5. You agree to maintain and house the animal/s, under the conditions of the applicable State Act governing the care of companion animal/ss.

 

6. You agree to meet all the required Council by-laws in your area, including obtaining appropriate permits and registrations.

 

7. You agree and accept that the breed of the animal/s is an educated guess only and may or may not be the actual breed of the animal/s.

 

8. You understand that it is your responsibility for any costs or charges incurred should the animal/s be impounded by the council or shelter facility.

 

9. You agree if that at any point during your time fostering for the Rescue, you are no longer able to care for the animal/s in your care, you are to contact the Rescue immediately and that the Rescue will seek appropriate alternative care for the animal/s. You understand that this may not happen immediately and agree to assist the Rescue in seeking alternative care.

 

 

 

 

 

Adoptions Terms and Conditions

 

1. I/we agree that the animal, while located at my/our property, on the mandatory adoption trial period and rehoming documentation has been provided, is and remains the property of Greys4Pets Inc (to be known as 'Rescue' or 'the Rescue' from here on).

 

2. I/we agree and understand that by completing the adoption process with the Rescue, that it does not guarantee approval of adoption. Final decisions are reserved by the Rescue and the Rescue Committee.

 

3. I/we agree that the adoption fee paid to the Rescue prior to commencement of the adoption trial period will be held as a security bond for the duration of the trial. This payment can be retained during the trial period even if the animal is returned or recalled by the Rescue. The decision for refunding the security bond during the adoption trial period is at the discretion of the Rescue. At the end of the trial period, the security bond will revert to the adoption fee to be retained by the Rescue.

 

4. I/we agree that during the adoption trial period, the Rescue may remove the animal from my/our home if deemed necessary. I/we agree that we will comply with all reasonable requests to collect the animal from my/our property by the Rescue representative. If I/we do not meet, I/we understand that we may be reported to the appropriate authorities, and the animal will be listed as stolen.

 

5. The animal is being placed with me/us for an indefinite period of time that begins on the date of the animal being delivered/collected unless otherwise arranged in writing and is to be returned to the Rescue at any time if the animal is deemed unsuitable or is unwanted.

 

6. I/we agree that I/we are able to transport the animal in our care to a veterinary surgery for treatment at any time. If care is required within the adoptions trial period, the Rescue will be notified immediately and taken to the Rescue's nominated vet, unless written approval is provided by the Rescue to use an external vet.

 

7. If the animal is/was not of age for desex/sterilize/neuter/spay prior to commencing the adoption trial period, I/we agree to take the animal to the Rescue's preapproved vet before six months of age. I/we agree that to make the animal to my/our vet will require written approval by the Rescue and that I/we are to supply the certificate/s within seven days of the procedure being performed. I/We understand and agree that if we do not make reasonable efforts to desex/sterilize/neuter/spay prior to 6 months of age, that the animal will revert back to the property of the Rescue.

 

8. During the adoption trial period, should the animal require any medical attention, I/we agree to contact the Rescue immediately. Any veterinary costs incurred by me/us without the agreement of the Rescue will not be refunded to me/us. I/we may be asked to contribute to the cost for any issues deemed as being caused by me/us or as a circumstance of my/our care of the animal.

I/we also agree to contact the RSPCA and AWL to list a lost pet report.

If the animal is impounded during the adoption trial period by any council or private facility, including veterinary surgery, I/we may be responsible for paying impound or any other fees to have the animal released. The Rescue may request that the animal is returned upon release from the facility and will become the property of the Rescue from that date if so requested.

 

12. During the adoption trial period, if I/we need to return the animal to the Rescue. I/we agree that we will attempt to provide at least one week's notice to find a foster carer. If not provided, the Rescue will cancel the adoption, and if I/we are in possession of the dog, I/we will return the animal immediately upon request. Declaration I/we acknowledge that I have read and accepted all of the terms and conditions in this adoption agreement. I/we agree and confirm that all the information I/we have provided to the Rescue is true and correct to the best of my/our knowledge. I/we understand that failure to comply with the requirements of this agreement can result in seizure of the animal and could result in legal action.

You agree if that at any point in the adoption trial period, you are no longer able to care for this animal, you are to contact the Rescue immediately and that the Rescue will seek appropriate alternative care for the animal. You understand that this may not happen immediately and agree to assist the Rescue in seeking alternative care.
